Newcastle dominate in Boat Race of the North

Newcastle University Boat Club were out for revenge over Durham University on May 6th in the annual Boat Race of the North raced annually between the two over 1500 metres on the River Tyne, after the latter’s success at BUCS Regatta a week earlier.

A series of six races culminated in a 5-1 victory for Newcastle, with the results of each contest as follows.

Women’s 3rd VIII’s : Newcastle Win
Men’s 3rd VIII’s : Newcastle Win
Women’s 2nd VIII’s : Newcastle Win
Men’s 2nd VIII’s : Newcastle Win
Women’s 1st VIII’s : Newcastle Win
Men’s 1st VIII’s : Durham Win

Newcastle have dominated the event in recent years, winning each year the event has taken place since 2015.
