The entries prospectus for the 186th Durham Regatta is now available on the Competitors page. As usual we are offering a wide range of events over 700 and 1800 metres on the River Wear in Durham.

Entries will close at 10pm on Thursday May 30th.

In order to streamline the entries process we are introducing some changes to the usual procedure.

The Regatta’s principal aim is to provide the best regional opportunity for rowers to take part in, and spectators to view, high quality racing between well matched crews across a range of boat types and competitive levels. However due to the popularity of the regatta, available spaces usually fill up within hours of entries opening, and changes to the British Rowing Ranking Points system have presented the regatta with a number of challenges. To address these we have adopted a new approach to accepting entries.

Between entries initially opening and one week before the official closing date the competition will not accept double entries for events on the same day of the Regatta (each day will be treated as a separate competition). The intention is that clubs will initially submit only the first choice event for each athlete. One week before the closing of entries, the competition will start accepting double entries and will accept additional entries from clubs to fill remaining spaces.

We aim to produce the best racing programme possible.

The key dates are May 9th when entries will open, May 23rd from when double entries will be accepted, and May 30th when entries will close.

Please refer to the documents on the Competitors page. If you have any questions please contact the Entries Secretary, Richard Mortimer at entries@durham-regatta.org.uk  or 07817 223485.

In addition to the racing events, we continue to provide a wide variety of land based activities, entertainment, displays and trade stands. These include the Classic Car Rally, music from school and community bands, children’s entertainment, craft stalls and refreshments.
