The Annual General Meeting of The Durham Regatta Company will be held in the Main Hall at Durham Amateur Rowing Club at 7.00 pm on Wednesday, 20th November 2019. Please find here the Agenda for 2019 and minutes from the 2018 AGM.
The AGM starts the business cycle for the year of the 187th Durham Regatta (June 13th and 14th 2020) and officers for the coming year will be appointed at the meeting.
Any member who wishes to stand for election to any post(s) should inform the Secretary (secretary@durham-regatta.org.uk) and note that they will need to be proposed and seconded by current members, though we will accept nominations at the meeting.
In addition to the AGM and monthly Executive Committee meetings, quarterly Members meetings are held to update members on progress. Proposed dates for Members meetings are February 19th 2020, April 22nd 2020 and June 24th 2020. All are Wednesdays at 7pm at Durham ARC.
The Durham Regatta Committee dates back to the Regatta’s inception in 1834, although today Durham Regatta is run as a limited company.
In 2011, the trade and assets of the Durham Regatta Committee were transferred to Durham Regatta, a private company limited by guarantee. The members of Durham Regatta are drawn from local rowing clubs, schools and universities, as well as from local government and other members of the Durham community. All members, as well as the directors and executive committee, give their time and service free of charge.
