Cooper Mini Durham are the latest company to sponsor Durham Regatta.
“A prestigious partner for a prestigious event.” said Mark Gilbank, Durham Regatta’s new volunteers co-ordinator who helped secure the deal to make the Regatta’s volunteers stand out from the crowd. “Thanks to this very generous sponsorship from Cooper Mini Durham, our volunteers will be wearing customised tabards and caps throughout the Regatta.”
Andy Elliott, the branch manager at Cooper Mini Durham, expressed his excitement about the link up with the Regatta. “We are really delighted to be working with Durham Regatta. We especially wanted to help the Regatta recognise the contribution its huge number of volunteers make to the smooth running of such a great event.”
The Regatta volunteers help in many different ways. For example, on the water, you will see them in stake-boats at the start holding on to the racing boats before the umpire. Volunteers will also be setting the races away with “Attention – Go” and driving the safety boats. On the bankside, we have volunteers commentating, putting up (and taking down) all the temporary structures and looking after lost (or ‘found’) children. Why not become a volunteer and help us make Durham Regatta 2017 a success?
Come rain or shine, and the hope is certainly for shine, on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June, the volunteers at Durham Regatta 2017 will be well protected and highly visible, courtesy of Cooper Mini Durham.
As well as two days of racing, Regatta visitors can take advantage of a range of bankside entertainment to suit all the family — from brass bands to walk-about comedy acts — while sampling food and drink from stalls catering for a wide range of tastes. So join us for a spectacular weekend of racing and bank-side entertainment.
