It is with great sadness that Durham Regatta has been informed that Malcolm Proud, former Regatta Secretary, passed away on Sunday 12th April 2026 after a long illness. We offer our condolences to Malcolm’s family and remember with gratitude his contribution to Durham Regatta.
Malcolm’s funeral will be held on Friday 8th May, 12 noon, at Elvet Methodist Church in Durham.
This will be preceded by a private family burial, so the service will be a service of thanksgiving, the family are asking people not to feel they have to wear black.
